who is paul?
- Paul Selkirk, Software Janitor. If you care how I make my living, I'm a
network protocol hacker at Wind River
Systems in Nashua NH (Wind River Networks Business Unit, Device Management
Group). I have primary responsibility for the Attache portable TCP/IP
stack. This is the network in the new Sony Network Walkman and the next
generation of Palms.
- Paul Selkirk, SMOF. Now that's a laugh. SMOF stands for Secret Master of
Fandom. It's true that I've been going to science fiction
conventions since 1983, and that I've been actively involved in running Arisia, a largish general-interest
Boston-area regional convention, since its inception in 1989, and that I even
chaired it in 2000. But I've
declined to take positions of responsibility in other conventions (including
Worldcons). This too may change.
- Paul Selkirk, sensitive new age guy. Umm, or maybe not. While it's entirely
true, I'm also a painfully shy and private person, and don't tend to discuss
my innermost feelings and beliefs in public. My spirituality runs to the
crypto-buddhist. Which is to say, it sounds like a good idea, but I haven't
fully embraced it yet. More here.
who is important to me?
- Francie,
my lover since 9 April 1983, my wife since 17 September 1988.
- Vicka
my lover since 9 December 1989.
- Kylie,
my daughter since 1 October 1994.
who else?
People I don't know, people I admire, people who are insightful and/or useful
to me...
