The sign really is as weather-beaten as it looks. The "housing development" in question is a cheek-by-jowl trailer park in the middle of nowhere - no stores, schools, churches, or services of any kind.

In contrast with the housing development, there was this nice suburban tract home, with a detached 3 car garage, all by itself.
